Polybasite with Chalcopyrite Coating
Polybasite with Chalcopyrite Coating from Chispas Mine (Pedrazzini mine), Arizpe, Mun. de Arizpe, Sonora, Mexico
Collection Robert Lavinsky
Description This is a miniature-sized, impressive example of this classic old-style combination which turns admittedly "gray" and dull Polybasite into something very beautiful, by the drusy coating of Chalcopyrite. This combination is assumed to only occur here at this locale in any quality. The crystals here are extremely robust. This piece has brilliant luster and is nearly, though not quite, complete all around. It is from the secret personal collection of longtime Mexican dealers Dalton and Consie Prince (now deceased), which Dave Stoudt got the chance to high-grade in the early 2000's. Seldom available in this quality, on the market. Joe Budd photos.
