Green Titanite on Clinochlore Matrix
Green Titanite on Clinochlore Matrix from Tormiq valley, Haramosh Mts., Skardu District, Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Collection Robert Lavinsky
Description Tormiq has produced a great variety of Titanite specimens, in a great range of colors and habits. Some of the varying finds include disc-like, tabular pinkish crystals and steep, honey-colored wedge-shaped crystals, but the most popular and attractive of all the habits of Titanite from this locality would have to be the grass green, blocky, twinned crystals. These are "Alpine-type" Titanite crystals. This specimen features a few pronounced, sharp, lustrous, green, twinned crystals of Titanite up to 1.4 cm long sitting atop beautiful lustrous, metallic, black-green "rosettes" of Clinochlore matrix.
