Calcite with Copper Inclusions
Calcite with Copper Inclusions from Quincy Mine, Hancock, Houghton County, Michigan
Collection Robert Lavinsky
Description This is a spectacular display quality and a fine specimen for historic reasons, at the same time. The main crystal is 3.5 inches tall, 3-dimensional and fat, and very lustrous, and is colored pink from inclusions of Copper. The matrix is a mix of copper and rock. Its a big piece, without seeming massive, elegant despite the unusual size of the crystals. These old classics come up to market so rarely in this quality and caliber, you can count the ones on a hand that have been for sale this decade.
